Overview
Sedona's riding is on Coconino National Forest (Red Rock Ranger District) trails that start in town: West Sedona, Uptown/Hogs, Village of Oak Creek (Slim Shady, HiLine, Llama, Bell Rock area). Thunder Mountain Bikes says "250+ miles" (https://thundermountainbikes.com/ (opens in a new tab)); Sedona Mountain Bike Academy says "300+ miles" (https://www.sedonamountainbikeacademy.com/new-blog-1/besttimetovisitsedona (opens in a new tab)); figures are marketing claims. Mountain Modern Sedona lists Phoenix Sky Harbor as about 2 hours away and Flagstaff under an hour (https://mountainmodernsedona.com/faq (opens in a new tab)). Key logistics: parking at the Cathedral Rock and Soldier Pass trailheads is closed whenever the city's free Trailhead shuttle runs (see below), so plan around it.

As of 2026-10-15 the forest's alerts page lists no Dry Creek-basin trail closure (it lists only the West Fork closure, which the forest order page shows running September 26 through October 31, 2026, covering West Fork Trail #108 and the drainage corridor: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r03/coconino/alerts/west-fork-temporary-area-closure-extended (opens in a new tab) ). The earlier Pocket Fire trail-closure alert page that covered Dry Creek, Bear Sign, David Miller, HS Canyon and Secret Canyon trails (a third-party snapshot showed it running through Sept 30) is no longer on the forest site, and no reopening notice was found, so confirm current access with the Red Rock Ranger Station (928-203-2900) before routing riders to Dry Creek or Secret Canyon-area trails.
